Bug 1492567 - Back out bug 1481866. r=dbaron a=pascalc Summary: The behavior the WG proposed is way more subtle than what that bug implements, including: * Implementing two logical overflow longhands. * Expanding the overflow shorthand to different longhands depending on the syntax of that. Meanwhile, Blink hasn't done the swap and will ship the same behavior that we shipped in Firefox 61 (bug 1453148), that is, overflow-x, then overflow-y. So I think lacking a clear way forward we should revert this change and preserve our shipped behavior. Reviewers: dbaron! Bug 1492459: Always check langpacks for modification at startup. r=aswan a=jcristau For most extension types, a missing or changed XPI file is not a serious issue, since a failure to start it does not cause any real problems, and can be rectified after startup. For language packs, though, we need to eagerly register the resources that they provide, and if those resources are missing, the browser becomes unusable. This patch changes the startup modification checks to always include language packs, even in profile directories. This will be a slight performance hit, but language pack usage is low enough that it shouldn't affect most users. Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D6289

Bug 1489581 - Improve vertical centering inside the content blocking "disabled" label. r=paolo a=pascalc Labels in the identity popup that are potentially multiline get dynamic heights set as part of the descriptionHeightWorkaround. This causes some cross-platform glitches in vertically centering the icon and the label of the disabled indicator. The disabled label doesn't really need to be multiline, so we avoid doing that. This also means that we need to make some changes to handle long "Disabled" labels a little more gracefully, but looking at existing translations of the word "Disabled" we won't run into trouble: https://transvision.mozfr.org/string/?entity=browser/chrome/browser/browser.dtd:contentBlocking.disabled.label&repo=gecko_strings Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D6041

Bug 1486971 - Test for dynamically change of the prefers-reduced-motion setting on MacOSX. r=froydnj, mstange a=pascalc The framework to simulate the setting change works as following; - nsIDOMWindowUtils.setPrefersReducedMotion() calls an IPC function which ends up calling nsChildView::SetPrefersReducedMotion() in the parent process - nsChildView::SetPrefersReducedMotion() sets the given value into nsLookAndFeel::mPrefersReducedMotionCached just like we set the value queried via NSWorkspace.accessibilityDisplayShouldReduceMotion in the parent process and send a notification which is the same notification MacOSX sends when the system setting changed - Normally the cached value is cleared before quering new values since the cache value is stale, but in this case the value is up-to-date one, so nsChildView::SetPrefersReducedMotion() tells that we don't need to clear the cache, and nsIDOMWindowUtils.resetPrefersReducedMotion() resets that state of 'we don't need to clear the cache' There are two test cases with the framework in this commit, one is just setting the value and checking the value queried by window.matchMedia. The other one is receiving 'change' event and checking the value of the event target. Note that to make this test works the patch for bug 1478212 is necessary since the test runs in an iframe. Bug 1486971 - Query NSWorkspace.accessibilityDisplayShouldReduceMotion only if it's on parent processes or it's the initial query on child processes. r=mstange a=pascalc In child processes on MacOSX we don't spin native event loop at all. Without native event loops NSWorkspace.accessibilityDisplayShouldReduceMotion doesn't return up-to-date value when the system setting changed for some reasons. To workaround this we use NSWorkspace.accessibilityDisplayShouldReduceMotion only on the parent process which spins native event loop or when it's the initial query on the child process. And we give the up-to-date value to the child process via an IPC call just like other cached values do. Depends on D5002 Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D5003

Bug 1491999: Quote command line for multiple components. r=mhowell a=pascalc The macro expansion of ExecAndWaitForInputIdle consumes the quotes around the macro argument. The argument has an extra layer of quotes around the executable name, which keeps it together even if it has spaces, but we need yet another layer around the whole command line or else each component of the command line appears as another argument to StrCpy. Standard practice is to quote args in the macro definition, I overlooked this in the initial implementation. Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D6111

Bug 1491159 - More complete handling of TZ environment variable when initializing ICU timezone. r=anba a=pascalc This improves on the changes in bug 1484829 by handling the absolute filename form of TZ environment variables both with and without an initial ':' character, and by improving comments about relative and absolute paths. (Note that relative paths without the ':' are just Olson time zone names.) Note that the only test that failed without the patch was: setTimeZone("/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Chicago"); assertEq(timeZoneName(), "Central Daylight Time"); and it reported Error: Assertion failed: got "GMT-06:00", expected "Central Daylight Time" which seems to be a sign that ICU gets some information out of that time zone identifier (i.e., it reported the correct standard-time GMT offset), but not everything.
