Bug 1561088 - emit unwind information for libffi aarch64/win assembly; r=dmajor, gsvelto The hand-written assembly for libffi on aarch64/windows doesn't emit unwind information. If we ever tried to unwind through these functions, they'd look like leaf functions, which is decidedly not true and would cause great pain. For whatever reason, the original aarch64 libffi functions used x21/x22/x23/x24 as their (callee-saved) scratch registers. This convention works on windows as well, but the unwind information on windows mandates that we start saving callee-saved registers starting from x19, rather than x21. Rather than rewriting the assembly to use x19/x20 instead of x21/x22, which would be a large change, we chose instead to simply save/restore extra registers in the prolog/epilog. This change does make the stack frame sizes slightly bigger, but an extra 16 bytes in libffi stack frames should not matter. The `-TC` change is necessary to make the compiler play nicely with .asm file suffixes. Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D35714

Bug 524410 - part 1 - extract file information out of .debug_line parsing; r=gsvelto The DW_AT_call_file attributes that we eventually want to parse from DW_TAG_inlined_subroutine DIEs refer to the file name table stored in the .debug_line section. To resolve those DW_AT_call_file attributes, we need access to that table after parsing of the appropriate .debug_line bits is done. Bug 1539574 - parse ELF symbols before DWARF symbols in dump_syms; r=gsvelto Module::AddFunction assumes that any time we add a function, it is preferable to use that instead of the corresponding external symbol (which could be anything). The former show up in Breakpad symbol files as FUNC lines, and the latter as PUBLIC lines. For Module::AddFunction to be effective, we have to parse all the external symbols for a module first, and then discover all the actual functions. But the Linux symbol dumping code does the reverse: it first parses all the DWARF information (including .debug_info, which adds any relevant functions) and then parses the ELF symbol table. This ordering means that we wind up emitting PUBLIC lines for which corresponding FUNC lines already exist. These duplicate PUBLIC lines take up roughly 10% of the size of a libxul symbol file (~30MB), and are completely unnecessary. The fix is simple: we should reverse the order in which we parse ELF symbols and DWARF debug information. Differential Revision: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D25116

But that bug has been blocked for a while because the Android emulator images we use for testing, for some reason, use a kernel older than any real device using the same version of Android would use. Bug 1503002 - Don't register WakeLockObserver for ProcessPriorityManagerImpl. r=gsvelto The WakeLockObserver is being used to set a boolean that's never being read. This also makes it so that dom.ipc.processPriorityManager.enabled can be set to true by default. Without this patch, setting that pref to true by default means that the WakeLockObserver attempts to be registered before Hal has had a chance to initialize which causes an assertion failure. bug 1392603 - Remove toolkit/crashreporter/tools/win32. r=gsvelto We have prebuilt dump_syms binaries in toolkit/crashreporter/tools/win32 from the days when we didn't build it as part of the build. There's one per MSVC version, since the APIs it uses are version-specific, but we don't actually support building with the MSVC versions corresponding to the binaries in that directory anymore, so we should just remove them. The only code change necessary here is changing the functional test to skip running the test if a dump_syms binary isn't available.
